Hajar Archaeology
Looking at Islamic archaeology from different perspectives
Ḥajār is a collective of archaeologists working in different parts of Islamic history and geography and on different topics. We search to celebrate and learn from the variety of approaches in our field by encouraging debate of selected topics between scholars with different backgrounds, and especially with researchers from disciplines outside the field. In the world post-pandemic, we believe that we can use our now wide experience with online conferencing to organise events where scholars from different parts of the world can connect and discuss. This blog is the main media of the Hajar Group to share news about the online conferences, publish short papers and to offer online tools for students, scholars and a non-specialist audience working on or interested in Islamic archaeology.
