Remote access and authentication
Thanks to the OpenEdition Freemium offers (OpenEdition Freemium for Journals and OpenEdition Freemium for Books), institutions get access to premium formats of journals (PDF and Epub) and books (PDF, Epub, and Reader mode). Access is granted via public IP address recognition as well as proxy servers of libraries and institutions.

Authentication to OpenEdition Freemium for Journals
As a member of an institution subscribing to OpenEdition Freemium for Journals, users can download ePub and PDF formats of articles and journal issues from the freemium journal bundle.

Authentication to OpenEdition Freemium for Books
As a member of a partner institution of the OpenEdition Freemium for Books programme, users can access online formats (HTML and Reader mode) as well as download ePub (full books) and PDF (chapters/full books) formats of the titles acquired by their institution or library.

Once authenticated via their institution's digital workspace, readers can go to the OpenEdition Books site and view in the catalogue what titles they can read online (HTML format) or download (ePub and PDF formats).
