Atelier de recherche sur le genre et l’histoire des arts vivants

Si depuis plusieurs décennies, en France, les différentes disciplines artistiques (littérature, histoire de l’art et cinéma, notamment) se sont considérablement ouvertes à l’histoire des femmes, aux théories féministes et aux études de genre, le dialogue avec l’histoire des arts vivants (théâtre, musique, danse) reste encore à établir. De ce fait, la périodisation, et les cadres géographiques et culturels de ce projet restent volontairement ouverts. Nous souhaitons appuyer des initiatives de recherches, impulser des propositions, en évitant de restreindre un champ de recherche amené à s’épanouir dans des directions que les échanges viendront en partie circonscrire.

For several decades in France, feminist and gender theory have become integral to the study of literature, cinema and the visual arts; however, the dialogue between gender studies and the history of the performing arts remains relatively unexplored. In order to redress this lack, and with the intention of creating a space for generative research and international exchange, we initiate this carnet de recherche purposefully defineing as broadly as possible the periodization, and geographical and cultural parameters of the project. We wish to encourage innovative thinking and fortuitous connections between scholars of diverse disciplines.
