Migration and belonging
Geschichten von Fremdheit und Zugehörigkeit. Migration als Aushandlungsprozess in westeuropäischen Grenzregionen (1815-1871)
Migration was already a common component of society in the early nineteenth century, but it was only with the concept of the nation-state that it came to be perceived as a significant political and social challenge. This blog takes a look at inner-European migration in the nineteenth century: How was migration regulated? Who was included and who excluded from (regional or national) belonging? Who was involved in these processes?
