The research group “Practices of Power and Interpersonal Relationships at Dynastic Centres (1500-1800)”, seated in the German Historical Institute in Paris, aims to investigate the interpersonal relationships that defined and shaped power structures at court. Hence, this blog project offers a space for the discussion of marriage, kinship, friendship, as well as patronage and concunbinage in a courtly context and in their relation to early modern practices of governance. We welcome the contribution and participation of scholars with related interests.
