It aims at renewing the approach of the phenomenon of authority in Antiquity thanks to the interdisciplinary collaboration of a group of young researchers based in Lyon. Historical, literary, archaeological and philological methods are intertwined in order to emphasize the dynamic and productive aspect of authority in the ancient societies, mostly Greek and Roman, but also, occasionnally, Gaulish, Egyptian or others.
